Weddings
“My beloved is mine and I am his…”
those words are thought to have been written over 3,000 years ago. Truly, love endures forever.
“You don’t marry someone you can live with; you marry someone you can’t live without”.
The most special of days: your wedding or partnership celebration! Or even a renewal of your vows later in life.
As a professional classically-trained singer and teacher, I have an eye for a great event.
Just ask my two daughters!
I can also draw on my wide knowledge of beautiful and appropriate music for all kinds of ceremonies.
It will be my joy to work with you to design a beautiful service at your chosen venue. You may be brimming with ideas for what you'd like, but you may also want some fresh ideas too.
You may want some or no religious content in the ceremony. Or you simply may not know -- we can discuss all sorts of options togther.
“If you live to be a hundred, I want to live to be a hundred minus one day – so I never have to live without you!” – A A Milne
“To the world you may be one person, but to one person you are the world.” - Anon
My services can include:
- Designing the service content and structure
- Drafting the printed order of service
- Suggesting music, poems and readings
- Writing an address for one of your guests, or me, to deliver on the day
I will work with your chosen venue (and wedding planner if you have one) to make sure that everything goes perfectly on the day.
Important note: I am a trained civil celebrant, not a Registrar. Even if your venue is licensed for weddings, a celebrant-led wedding doesn't give legal recogntion to your marriage or partnership.
Most couples choose to have the legal necessities at a Registry Office a day or two before their "real" ceremony.
You could of course simply have a Registry Office wedding - many couples do. However there are strict rules about the content (nothing remotely religious) and you may not be allocated very much time for anything beyond the legal basics if it's a busy day at the office. You may prefer to have someone presiding (me) whom you have met and we have spent time getting to know each other, rather than a complete stranger.
